Now that you’ve signed up your Scouts, there are some things that you will need to do as a parent or guardian regardless of whether you are a leader or not.
FIRST!
Set up a my.scouting account. This is how you will keep up with Registration and Renewals, Advancement, and Scout Accounts.
Go to my.scouting.org and click “Create Account”. You will be prompted to enter your information, including whether you have a BSA Member ID. Based on your selections, the system will help you create a username and password, or you can use an existing account to link your membership.
Step 1: Go to the website and start account creation
Navigate to my.scouting.org and Click the “Create Account” button.
Step 2: Provide your member information
- When prompted, click “I know my member ID” and enter it, or select “I am new and don’t know my member ID”.
- If you are new or don’t know your Member ID, you may need to search for your account using personal information like your name and date of birth.
- If a matching record is found, select it. If no matching record exists, the system will proceed to create a new account.
Step 3: Create your login credentials and security questions
- Choose a unique username and check for its availability.
- Create a password, confirm it, and then set up two security questions to help recover your account later.
- After creating an account, check your email for a confirmation or verification link and follow the instructions to finalize your account.
Step 4: Log in and complete your profile
Once logged in, go to “My Account” or “My Profile” to review and update all your personal and contact information.
Go back to the my.scouting.org login page and enter the username and password you just created.
You may be asked to verify your account through your email or security questions.

- You will not be able to fast-forward until the audio for each slide is finished.
- Complete all modules and the test to be considered trained.
